Aperture Pour Series
The technique
used to create the discs in this series is a combination of my
thread sculptures and an Aperture Pour. "Aperture Pour"
technique is created by placing scrap glass into a flower pot
and placing the flower pot into the kiln on posts. This is then
fired at a high temperature and maintained at this temperature
until the pour is complete. This pour will create a large circle
of glass onto the kiln shelf. The glass is then sandblasted and
cut on a tile saw and refired into the disc to complete the
total piece of art.
